Sharon Givoni is the Principal Solicitor at Sharon Givoni Consulting, a boutique intellectual property (IP) law firm based in Melbourne, Australia. With over 25 years experience in all areas of IP and commercial law, Sharon specialises in assisting creatives, from artists, musicians and sculptors to architects and graphic designers. However, as her clients will tell you, what really sets her apart is her rare distinction of being both professional and personable.

In addition to her legal practice, Sharon has always had a passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge. In fact, Sharon released her first book at the ripe age of 14 titled ‘The Australian Kids’ Book of Craft’. Sharon has continued to carry this passion, regularly contributing to industry magazines such as Australasian Textiles & Fashion Magazine, ProPhoto, Food & Drink Business, Inside Retailing with articles that bridge intellectual property with fashion, photography, food, social media and retail. Sharon also serves as General Editor to various reputable law bulletins published by LexisNexis.

A strong believer in empowering people about their IP rights, Sharon also enjoys speaking as an effective method of teaching and connecting to others. Sharon frequently presents seminars and practical workshops to companies, industry associations, creative professionals and universities such as RMIT, University of Melbourne and Kangan Institute. Sharon also provides legal training on various areas of professional interest and expertise to designers, marketing and advertising teams.

Sharon is somewhat of an artist herself and the walls of her house are filled with her own paintings and illustrations. Sharon is fascinated by consumer psychology and loves to scour the marketplace for new and interesting products. She’s even one of those rare people who enjoys watching television advertisements! In her personal time, Sharon enjoys spending time with her partner and two daughters, cycling and supporting Melbourne’s boutique fashion industry.
